About this course

Dementia Awareness introduces the knowledge care staff need to recognise how dementia can affect a person’s memory, communication, behaviour, wellbeing and daily life.

Who it is for

Designed for adult care staff who support people living with dementia across residential, nursing, supported-living and community settings.

What learners will cover

The course focuses on person-centred support, communication, dignity, changes in need, distress or behaviour, wellbeing, risk awareness and appropriate escalation. It complements wider Care Certificate learning and role-specific dementia development.

Delivery and evidence

The WC rebuild will use governed learning content, assessment and workplace-relevant scenarios, with completion and evidence recorded through the Workforce Compliance platform.
