About this course
Recognise everyday stoma support needs, protect dignity and respond when care needs change. This Level 1 awareness course explores person-centred support, the individual care plan, privacy, communication, routine observation and timely escalation of concerns.
Who it is for
Care and support workers, healthcare assistants and supervisors whose roles involve supporting a person living with a stoma.
Learning and assessment
Knowledge checks and care scenarios focus on recognising changes, recording clearly and following the person’s plan and local escalation route. Completion of online learning does not authorise a worker to carry out a delegated stoma care task. Any hands-on task requires person-specific training, supervision and observed workplace competence sign-off.
For care teams
